A new Goal Sister group is forming in Indianapolis, Indiana! If you're ready to turbocharge your life with new friendships while supporting others and accomplishing your goals, please email Gloria at gdanielson@iquest.net.

Joplin MO Group at 2007 Holiday Get-Together

The Joplin Missouri Goal Sisters met for some holiday cheer at Joy's house. We celebrated the many highs and lows of 2007 and said 'good bye' to regular monthly meetings. Cindy has devised a plan for meeting at an area restaurant every other month so we drew a restaurant for each month at the holiday party. We'll join Ann for another Spiva Arts Center workshop on treasure mapping on January 6 and meet for dinner in February.

Here's to 2008 - it's gonna be great!

Lani, Amy, and Michelle met recently to celebrate Amy's birthday. After we checked out the major renovations to Lani's home, we headed to the country in Michelle's air conditioned car. We chatted about our memories of places along the way as well as our health goals (Amy's paddling again!), hair changes (Lani's is longer, Michelle's is browner!), career changes (Lani got a promotion!), and family happenings (Michelle's daughter is a high school senior, Amy's home is bursting with family and friends, and Lani's oldest son is engaged to be married!). We took photos of potential wedding spots and stopped for brunch at the Turtle Bay resort. Our scrumptious meal was followed by a stroll through the grounds, where we paused to breathe deeply and watch two young honu (aka, sea turtles) surf the gentle waves over the rocky shore.

Ann recently received this e-mail from a GS in New Hampshire:

I have been working with your book personally for 2 years, although my initial "sister" bagged on me around chapter 3!

I want you to know that even without a partner, I have been continually inspired by the book, and have set and hit 3 of my life goals since I've owned it. I gave up alcohol (alcoholism runs in my family, and I am also at risk for Breast Cancer, so, giving it up was a health choice), lost 45 pounds, and completed a sprint triathlon last summer. So, whether or not I can get a group off the ground, I want you to know that I am benefitting from your life lessons.

Thanks for everything, Ann!!

Lynne's in the process of starting a GS group. If you live near her and would like to join her group, drop us an e-mail at newsletter@goalsisters.com.

Benefits of Being in a GS Group

When we asked the 1st Joplin MO GS Group 'What are the benefits of being in a GS Group?' they said:

~ Having a feeling of happiness and belonging

~ Seeing others grow and obtain their goals helps me feel I can do most anything myself

~ Quit my job and started my dream career

~ Feeling more confident and optimistic regarding life and my position in it

~ Being more conscious of the need for ‘fun’ in my life and making time for it

Deborah from the 1st Joplin MO GS group

We checked in with Deborah, who lives in the area affected by the recent fires in Southern California. She and her husband are fine, and dealing with the gusty Santa Ana winds.
